TRREB Statement on CBC Marketplace Investigative Report on Mortgage Fraud
On behalf
of the nearly 70,000 Realtor Members of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB), we unequivocally
condemn the behaviour highlighted in the CBC Marketplace investigative report on mortgage fraud.
Supply Remains an Issue Despite Impact of Higher Mortgage Rates
The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) housing market
continued its adjustment to higher borrowing costs in September 2022. Sales for the month reached 5,038,
but were down by 44.1 per cent compared to September 2021. New listings were also down on a year-over-year
basis by 16.7 per cent to 11,237.
Greater Toronto Realtors Call on Municipal Election Candidates to Make Housing Affordability a Priority
With municipal
elections being held on October 24, 2022, the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) has launched
a campaign to ensure that candidates for municipal office understand the importance of making housing
affordability a priority. In support of this campaign, TRREB has released the results of new public opinion
polling conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs for TRREB on various housing affordability issues and launched
GiveMeOptions.ca, to help the public easily understand and voice their concerns on these issues directly
to current and future municipal councils.
Soooo happy to say we purchased our first home in Canada! This was all possible due to a wonderful
person Indranil. He has an ocean full of patience.
Me and my wife have never worked with someone this
calm and composed.
He was so meticulous about the first time home buying strategy that we never faced
any challenges in arranging visits to putting down offers.
We bought a house when the market was at
its peak with every house being sold for nearly an unimaginable price tag. Indranil never let us feel
that we were out of the race and kept us focused on our goal (buy our first home).
We would highly
recommend his services to anyone looking for their first or second home.
